How to get a mortgage loan grant under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin

Before looking at a list of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, you should first understand the key principles of the program. The PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) -G (Gramin) was unveiled in an effort to improve the government’s program called Housing for all. The central government aims for a major implementation of this program by 2022. PMAY-G aims to offer pucca houses with basic facilities to eligible homeless people and those residing in Kutcha houses or severely damaged houses. The minimum size of houses built under PMAY-G must be 25 square meters (it was 20 square meters before).

List and loan limit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin

Eligible beneficiaries of the PMAY list can benefit from loans up to Rs. 70,000 from financial institutions as well as an interest subsidy at the rate of 3%. The maximum principal amount for the same amount is capped at Rs. 2,000,000 while the maximum grant is Rs. 38,359 for EMI which is payable. The cost of the unit is shared in the 60:40 ratio between the Center and the state governments for the plains areas i.e. Rs. 1.20 lakh in support for each unit. In the Himalayan and Northeastern States as well as in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, this ratio goes up to 90:10 with up to Rs. 1.30 lakh of support for each unit.

The Center offers 100% funding in the case of UTs (Union Territories) including Ladakh. List Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin Recipients receive Rs. 90.95 per day in unskilled labor courtesy of MGNREGS. The beneficiaries are also identified through the parameters of the SECC (Socio-Economic and Caste Census) and the verification is carried out by the Gram Sabhas. Support is granted up to Rs. 12,000 for the construction of toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) program in collaboration with other programs, including MGNREGS. Payments are made directly and electronically to the post office and bank accounts linked to Aadhar.

Loan Eligibility Available Under PMAY

The eligibility conditions are as follows-

Homeless families

Those with houses having 0/1/2 rooms with roof and wall in Kutcha

Households without adult male members aged 16 to 59

Households without literate adults over 25

Households without adult members aged 16 to 59

Households without able-bodied members / with disabled members

Scheduled tribe, scheduled affair, others and minorities

Landless households with income from occasional work

Applicants with motorized 2/3/4 wheels, fishing boats and agricultural equipment will not be eligible as well as those with KCC (Kisan Credit Card) with a limit greater than / equal to Rs. 50,000. If the household counts at least one member employed by government or earning over Rs. 10,000 each month or any individual pays income tax / business tax or owns refrigerator / landline connection then eligibility will not be there.

Visit the official PMAY-G website.

Fill in the necessary details including cell phone number, gender and Aadhar number.

Download the consent form for the use of the Aadhar number.

Click on To look for to find the PMAY identifier, name and priority of the beneficiary.

Click on Select to register.

The details of the beneficiary will be generated and displayed automatically.

The rest can be filled in including property type, Aadhar number, relationship, etc.

You must download the necessary consent form to using an Aadhar number in the name of the beneficiary.

Then add the recipient’s account details in the required fields including bank account number and name.

If the beneficiary wishes to take out a loan, choose Yes and enter the required amount.

Enter the MGNREGA job card number as well as the SBM (Swachh Bharat Mission) number.

The following section should be completed by the officer concerned.

The SECC will help create the list of beneficiaries while these beneficiaries will be given priority thereafter once they arrive at the List Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin. The list will then be sent to Gram Sabhas for verification, followed by the creation of the final list and its publication. The annual lists will be created thereafter. This is the entire procedure for obtaining accommodation under PMAY-G.
